How do I create a workout program?
Go to the Workouts tab, tap the + button, and add exercises with sets, reps, weight targets, and rest timers. You can also duplicate an existing program and modify it.
How does Apple Health sync work?
When you finish a workout, it is saved to Apple Health if you have given permission. The app asks to write workouts and to read calories burned and heart rate, which usually come from an Apple Watch. You can manage permissions in Settings → Health.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Go to Settings → Export Data. You can export your full workout history as a CSV file.
How do I switch between kg and lbs?
Go to Settings and tap the weight unit toggle. All weights throughout the app update immediately.
What does the Live Activity show?
During an active workout, the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show your current exercise, the workout clock and your set progress, and between sets the rest counting down. It keeps counting without the app open and says when rest is over. iOS asks once whether to allow Live Activities for the app. If you said no, turn them back on in the iPhone's Settings, under Anvil Workout.
Where is my data stored?
Your programs and history are stored only on your device and are never uploaded or synced. Your iPhone and iPad each keep their own. If you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer, your data is included in that backup. The only thing the app sends is a report to Sentry if it crashes, hangs or hits an error, and you can turn that off in Settings. Reports never include your workouts, notes or Health data.
How are personal records detected?
Anvil Workout automatically compares each completed set against your history. When you lift more weight or perform more reps than ever before for an exercise, it is flagged as a new PR.
